Chanel Reissue 227 Double Flap Bag

The Chanel Reissue Bag is a true French classic, re-released in 2005, having been initially designed by Coco Chanel herself in 1955. This is the bag from which the Classic Flap was born, and was indeed the first handbag to be carried by upper class woman on their shoulders. The aged calfskin provides durability with a subtle gloss, while the gunmetal hardware completes the vintage look. A dreamy and classic closet staple, the Reissue is truly a timeless piece.

Features: Aged black calfskin leather exterior; gunmetal ruthenium hardware; chainlink strap which can be worn as a single strap or doubled over; rear exterior slip pocket; signature Mademoiselle turn-lock opens first flap into 2 x slip pockets between exterior and interior; interior zip pocket within top flap; dome closure opens second flap to reveal main compartment; leather lined interior includes 3 x slip pockets.

Measurements: 30 cm (length) x 9 cm (width at base) x 20 cm (height) x 28 or 48 cm (shoulder strap drop).

Condition: Great condition. The exterior leather has been well maintained and is in great condition with light wear only. This can be seen in the form of light rubbing to the leather below the mademoiselle turnlock (photo 7). As with all Reissues, there is a crease to the base, as in keeping with the vintage spirit of the Reissue style, these bags are shipped to Chanel stores flat packed, resulting in these creases. The hardware is in great condition with light wear visible to the turnlock and to the chain link strap. The interior is clean and in excellent condition.
